Excitation Control Survey
1. Review drawings (if any) of existing installation. Or, if drawings are not available, often the required information can be obtained from the generator nameplate and the system one-line drawing. In many cases the owner can provide sufficient information that will then not require a site visit (one day on site).
- Simple systems: 1 day
- Complex systems: 2-3 days

2. Determine excitation system needs and hardware requirements.

4. For simple Brushless Exciter installations, the installation can be designed on site in one day and the installation take place the following day. For larger installations design will need to be in advance of installation.
5. Install hardware on site. This can take one day for simple systems, longer for larger more complex systems
Startup. One day for simple systems, longer for more complex systems.
A simple brushless excited control system can be designed, installed and commissioned in two or three days on site (one trip to the site). |
